Slovak Lines a.s. is the most remarkable provider of passenger road transport services in Slovakia.
It is a progressive and well-driven company. Its history dates back to 1949 when a bus company named ČSAD n.p. was established. However, the today´s company follows all modern trends in bus transportation and applies them thoroughly in its everyday practice.
In the past 3 years, the company went through a plenty of fundamental changes. The major ones include an investment in purchase of 120 new buses delivered in 2005 to 2007 which contributed massively to the recovery of our bus fleet for regional bus line services. Other significant changes also include a change of our corporate name in 2007 when the company of SAD Bratislava a.s. was rebranded to Slovak Lines a.s.
Nowadays we operate regular passenger transport services on regional, domestic and international routes, as well as contractual transport services for corporates and privates and other special transfers, while providing customers with modern, quality and safe services. Our regular passenger transport is run on 42 regional routes, 9 domestic routes and 8 international routes. In 2008 we carried more than 16,1 million passengers and drove over 17,5 million kilometres. We employ 525 people and operate 270 buses and coaches.
Our shareholders include the company of Bus Transport s.r.o. with 56 % and the National Property Fund of the Slovak Republic with 44 %. We take an active part in functions of the Bus Transport Association and we are a member of Eurolines, an international organisation of coach carriers.
