You might plan a trip with your children. Or your children might travel to school on our services. In any case, you should at least know what discounts your children are entitled to when travelling on our domestic, international or regional services.
DOMESTIC SERVICES
Age Discount
Children up to 2 years of age travel for free on most domestic services unless he/she is provided an individual seat upon parent`s request. If so, children are entitled to a discount of 50% of the normal fare.
Children from 2 to 15 years of age are entitled to a discount of 50% of the normal fare.
Return Ticket
Slovak Lines Express shuttle services on the routes Bratislava – Sereď (no. 102502) and Bratislava – Dunajská Streda – Komárno (no. 102504)
Here you can buy your children an OPEN return ticket. This ticket is valid for ten calendar days and for one return travel.
On routes Bratislava - Nitra - Banská Bystrica - Liptovský Mikuláš / Brezno - Poprad - Vysoké Tatry (102 503),
Bratislava - Dunajská Streda - Veľký Meder - Komárno (102 504),
Bratislava - Trnava - Topoľčany - Partizánske - Bojnice (102 505),
and Bratislava - Trnava - Nitra - Rožňava - Košice - Prešov (102 506)
you can also buy your children an OPEN return ticket. This ticket is valid for one month and for one return travel.
Any return fare is considerably lower than the price of two single tickets.
INTERNATIONAL SERVICES
Age Discount
Children up to 4 years of age are entitled to a discount of 80 % of the normal fare as well as to an individual seat.
Children from 4 to 13 years of age are entitled to a discount of 50 % of the normal fare.
In order to prove the entitlement to this discount, a travel document (passport) of the child is needed even though it is not required with adults anymore after the entry of Slovakia into the Schengen zone.
Return Ticket
If you travel abroad and think of using our services on your way back as well, it is definitely cheaper for you to buy a return ticket. Its price is considerably lower than the price of two single tickets. It is no problem when you cannot specify the exact date of your return journey. You can buy an OPEN return ticket. This ticket is valid for 180 days from your first travel date. This ticket gives you the flexibility of 180 days you need while deciding about your return. Your only responsibility is to book your seat on the return journey within the network of our sales agents throughout Slovakia, or within the network of our partner offices abroad.
Weekly Travel Ticket
Does your child travel daily to school to Vienna or Hainburg? Then a weekly travel ticket on the route Bratislava - Vienna (no. 102806) is just right for you. It is really worth the price. Your child might thus travel for a half fare.
Travelling around Europe and with a Eurolines Pass, your children up to 2 years of age travel for free but only if they are accompanied by a person older than 18 years.
Children from 2 years of age are entitled to a discounted 15 or 30 days Eurolines Pass at the amount of 15 to 30 % of the normal price. Any particular discount depends on the season during which a passenger uses his/her Eurolines Pass.
Tickets Purchased in Advance
While travelling on our routes Bratislava – London, Bratislava – Paris and Bratislava – Rotterdam, you can get an interesting discount. All you need to do is to buy your ticket well in advance prior to your departure. So if you buy your ticket in advance of 31 to 60 days prior to your departure, you get a discount of 20 % of the normal fare. If you buy your ticket in advance of 10 to 30 days prior to your departure, you get a discount of 5 % of the normal fare.
And what is more important, these discounts have no influence on further discounts provided as per age groups.
Note: Discounts provided on services operated by other carriers may be different.
Important: Under 16 years old passengers must be accompanied by a person older than 18 years on all internationa services (except for the route Bratislava – Vienna).
REGIONAL SERVICES
Age Discount
Children up to 15 years are entitled to a discount of 50 % of the normal fare. (The same discount is applicable for any adult accompanying an up to 6 years old child.)
Attention! If it is not possible and/or difficult to estimate the age of a child, such a child is entitled to a discount on domestic or regional services only if his/her age is clearly proved by an identification card (e.g. Bus Travel Card issued by the carrier, health insurance card, travel passport, etc.). Children up to 15 years can be also issued a child age card. This card can be issued upon presentation of a birth certificate and a photograph. A fee of 1 EUR/30,- SKK is charged for this document.
The entitlement to a discount on international services must be proved by a travel document (passport).
