The spas of Dudince are situated at the altitude of 140 metres, at the foot of a valley called Krupinská kotlina, in the district of Krupina, in a triangle formed by the cities of Bratislava, Budapest and Banská Bystrica, in clean environment without any industrial air pollutants. The good location and warm stable weather provide ideal conditions for a nice relaxation. The climate of the town is typical for regions with lower temperatures and the highest number of sunny days per year in the Slovak Republic. As per Swiss classification, the town has a sedative and restful climate which is what also makes it quite popular.
The town is an ideal place for rehabilitation and relaxation. Dudince has its own over 700 years history. There are 32 stone bathing pools preserved from the Roman period. Waters of Dudince have 28,5 degrees of Celsium and contain six dominant mineral elements having a beneficial effect on the human organism. It helps heal locomotive organs, heart blood vessel system, rheumatic diseases, high blood pressure, and various dermatic and gynaecoid diseases. It also has a beneficial effect on digestive tract. From May to September the town of Dudince opens the gates of a public bathing pool with mineral waters.
The surroundings of Dudince provides several possibilities for organizing sight-seeing tours. One of the routes goes through Banská Štiavnica, a town which is on the list of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage due to its numerous monuments. Trips to other towns might be also quite attractive; e.g. the town of Zvolen, or a castle in the village of Sv. Antol where there is a museum of hunting, or places like Šahy and Brhlovce which are famous for human dwellings in the rockies.
