From 1st of October 2017 the Bratislava main bus station in the temporary place
The bus station Mlynské nivy in Bratislava is planned to move for the night on the turn of Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st of October and it will change its location just opposite the current station, to Bottova street.
Departure of the first bus line is scheduled for Sunday at 4 a.m. in the direction of Schwechat Airport and the center of Vienna. The entire bus station will be moved to the new premises which will be its home for three years until the new brand Nivy station will be completed. The new premises of a temporary bus station Nivy will provide greater comfort and better services. As before, you can buy bus tickets, transportation cards or prepaid travel tickets directly at the station. Together six cashiers will provide their service in the main hall of the station. There will not be missing tools for searching of bus lines, Wi-Fi, free toilets or luggage storage cabinets. Furthermore, the new temporary bus station will accommodate refreshment premises, groceries, a bakery, or a newsstand.
Bus departures and arrivals remain unchanged
The bus lines will depart from and arrive at the temporary bus station on Bottova street in unchanged times. A total of 34 platforms are available for buses. In case of lines providing suburban traffic in the Bratislava region, departures from the platforms are clearly divided according to the region to which the bus is heading. A favorite line going to Vienna and Schwechat Airport will change its former platform to platform no. 1. Buses heading to Hainburg or Wolfsthal will mainly be driven from platforms no. 1 and 2. At the same time, international lines heading to other countries will operate at platforms no. 2 and no. 3. Bus platform no. 4 will serve for passengers arriving to Vienna for concerts or shopping in Parndorf, for skiing in Stuhleck ski resort and for those who want to visit Neusiedl am See or Hainburg.
From platforms no. 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will depart trunk lines, international and selected suburban lines. Buses heading to the Dunajská Streda and Galanta regions will arrive at platforms no. 10, 11 and 12. Platforms numbered 13 to 17 will be intended for passengers travelling in the direction of Malacky and Rohožník. Platform no. 18 will be reserved for tours and holiday packages of travel agencies. Buses heading to the Pezinok region will depart from platforms no. 19 to 22, buses heading to the Senec region will depart from platforms 23 to 26 and to the Šamorín region from platforms no. 27 to 31. Platforms no. 32, 33 and 34 will be operated by bus lines heading to Nitra, Banská Bystrica, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, or by other international or long distance lines.
The bus station availability
The bus terminal on Bottova street will have the same accessibility for passengers as before. Bus stops of the public transport system remain in the original locations. The station will be accessible by foot or by bicycle from Mlynské nivy street or from Chalupkova street as well. In front of the building there will be taxi ranks for incoming passengers. Access to the bus station by car will only be available from Chalupkova street.
