The national fund-raising An Hour for Children started at the bus station Mlynské Nivy

The 10th year of the national fund-raising An Hour for Children started at the bus station Mlynské Nivy

On the 18th November 2008 the Foundation for the Children of Slovakia in cooperation with Slovak Lines inaugurated the 10th year of the public fund-raising An Hour for Children. The bus set out for its symbolic route from the Mlynské Nivy bus station and HUGO, the mascot of the public fund-raising An Hour for Children, waved it as it was leaving the station. The bus continued its run in the streets of Bratislava and finished it in the premises of the STV (Slovak Television). Slovak lines gifted four buses as means for the propagation of this year’s fund-raising. They will ply a route from Bratislava to Prešov.

„We are pleased to help those people who need it and we were appealed by the projects that bring positive changes into the lives of children and youths. That’s the reason why we welcomed the opportunity to become one of the partners of this project even in its 10th year anniversary”, said Peter Sádovský, the general manager of Slovak Lines, in his opening speech.

It is not enough to help children only once a year, it is necessary to work with them systematically. And that is what Foundation for the Children of Slovakia tries to do. Help suits all of us. Join the fund-raising yourselves, too. This year’s legacy is: An hour for Children is right now! Gift it to them.
